Alyssa Perry is a musician and educator located in Athens, Ohio with roots in West Virginia.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2020 and her Master of Music Education degree from Ohio University in 2022.  During her time at Wesleyan, Alyssa participated in a variety of ensembles as well as performing two solo flute recitals.  Her private studies at Wesleyan included both flute and piano with Linda Wolfersheim and Dr. Melody Meadows.  While at Ohio University, Alyssa studies flute with Alison Sincoff and serves as the flute graduate assistant.  She has actively played flute and piccolo with the Ohio University Wind Symphony, the Ohio University Flute Choir, and the Ohio University Graduate Flute Quartet, Double Duet, as well as performing a solo recital.  She is the current Vice President of the Flute Club at Ohio University.  Alyssa studies conducting with Dr. William Talley and has conducted the Ohio University Wind Symphony, University Band, Symphonic Band, and small ensembles.  She has worked for the School of Music and the College of Fine Arts at Ohio University during the summers of 2021 and 2022.  Alyssa is the creator and owner of Alyssa's Music Studio and teaches students privately on flute and piano. She is also teaching private lessons to students on flute through Athens Community Music School.  She has experience teaching in public schools and has worked with multiple high school flute and woodwind sections during summer band camps and throughout the school year teaching masterclasses. She has experience as a church musician at Epworth United Methodist Church (Ripley, WV) and Davis Memorial Presbyterian (Elkins, WV).  She was the featured soloist at womanSong's 2019 Winter Concert.  She has also performed as a wedding musician several times.  Alyssa spent three summers working with the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation through its Civic Leaders Fellowship Program to support music organizations in the Ohio Valley region through grant writing, service to local music organizations, and professional development. She plans to graduate with her Master of Music in Conducting in May of 2023.
